In 1997 the numbers of students majoring in science at the various levels were : 1,898 at BS level, 328 at MS level and 27 at PhD level.

The Faculty provides community services with emphasis on the distribution of knowledge to the community of various levels in order to serve their needs and to help solving their problems. Continuing education in the form of technical meetings, seminars, workshops and training courses, is classified as one of the major categories of the services to the community.
